The idea to paint this piece came from one of my photos
[link]. Each year, I look forward to the time when the birds come to
visit my back porch because my mother puts a birdfeeder out there to
attract the birds. When they come, they can often be found fighting each
other for rights to the birdseed. This painting depicts just one of the
back porch confrontations, but this is one of the few of which I managed
to snap a photo. It was interesting to stand there watching them face each
other. They eventually did fight, as shown in this photo
